What you need to know

Full disclosure: I don't normally read or watch anything that has to do with "horror" so read my review with a grain of salt! I gave Samantha Cross a chance with Lunar Rampage and am so glad I did! This book is a really fun, quick read! If you like scary stories with characters suffering the side effects of a full moon, then you'll definitely find Lunar Rampage compelling. LR reads like a journal at first with a lot of detail but as the suspense builds the reader will enjoy being so close to the action in first-person. And the perspective is perfect for the inevitable, gory, blood-stained, tooth and claw climax!

The main character, Cora, is a little bit scatter-brained and her awkwardness is almost cringe-worthy at first but as her character develops so does her humor and her dialogue becomes hilarious and memorable. Characters like Cora (quirky twenty something that just happens to be attacked by werewolves. NBD.) are a challenge to write and it's definitely a landmark for Samantha to accomplish it as well as she does in LR. Awesome!
